Credit Suisse Names Southeast Asia Private Banking VC

has appointed Bie Lan Oey as vice chairman for private banking in Southeast Asia. 

Bie Lan Oey is joining after 20 years at HSBC Private Banking where she was most recently managing director covering the ultra-high net worth Indonesia market and also co-led next generation programmes.

Prior to that, she was the head of UHNW segment for Southeast Asia. She has worked in numerous leadership roles at UBS Wealth Management, Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan.

Her appointment takes effect from 5 October. Bie Lan Oey will report to Benjamin Cavalli, head of private banking for South Asia, and will be based in Singapore.

“In her new role, Bie Lan will work closely with our leadership team within the Southeast Asia markets and senior bankers to build and strengthen our most important client relationships and capitalise on collaboration opportunities. She will also help us accelerate key initiatives, drive new client acquisition, and nurture our talent pool to position us well for the next phase of growth,” according to a memo about her hire sent to this publication.
